Build the Perfect Webinar

Trying to build the perfect webinar?

I have unfortunate news; that will never happen. And that’s ok. That’s ok because at the end of each webinar you should review what you did that was amazing, fine and not so fine. Building the perfect webinar will never happen because as such with everything in life, you should always keep evolving and thinking forward on how you can make your next webinar experience even better for attendees.

The question you need to ask yourself is “how can I build a webinar that speaks to my target market AND achieves my goals?”.

Your goals could mean lead generation, brand awareness, lead conversion, customer retention or effectively transferring knowledge to your audience. Could mean one of those things, could mean all those things or none of those things. Regardless, don’t just build a webinar because you think you need to. Build a webinar that has a purpose.

Once you have purpose, you need to determine how your webinar is going to flow. Start creating a checklist, because you are going to need to know at a minimum:

  • Who will be your webinar host(s)
  • Who is your content expert
  • What platform will you host this webinar on (we recommend Adobe Connect!)
  • Who is your target marketing for this webinar
  • How long will your webinar be and when will it be
  • Will you have a webinar facilitator? (we recommend always having a facilitator, we can help if you have a large event!)
  • What type of audio will you use, VoIP, integrated audio, or dial-in? (we recommend integrated audio)
  • How are you going to keep the webinar interesting and engaging
  • How many emails will you send out, and when
  • Will you provide additional collateral, like a handout or webinar recording to webinar registrants
  • Are you charging for the webinar, or will it be free

Use your next webinar as your benchmark, and keep changing your flow and format until you find what works for your business and target audience. You may have multiple webinars that speak to a variety of target markets, and in that case no webinar should be alike. Get creative, have fun and most of all: Don’t strive for perfection, strive for greatness, and strive to keep evolving your webinar process.
