Porting data between different software systems is a defining aspect of our tech society these days.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>And the connective tissue bringing it all together? Application Programming Interfaces \u2013 better known as APIs.<\/p>\n

APIs have taken over the software world.<\/strong>\u00a0Between 2005 and 2015, we saw the\u00a0number of APIs<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0go from a few hundred to more than ten thousand!\u00a0The capabilities of any one system<\/strong>\u00a0are greatly enhanced by APIs that connect them to different, complementary platforms!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Adobe Connect has long embraced the open API model.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0It has tremendous platform extensibility that’s helping\u00a0everyday users like you and me!\u00a0But what does that mean? We\u2019re digging into it here!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Benefits<\/span>\u00a0of Platform Extensibility<\/span><\/h2>\n

Platform extensibility isn\u2019t just a fun bit of jargon we like to throw around. It\u2019s critical for most businesses. (We depend upon Salesforce’s platform extensibility to work with Hubspot.)<\/p>\n

Adobe Connect has\u00a0put in a lot of work to ensure its platform\u00a0is highly extensible and open to as many options as possible!<\/p>\n

What does Platform Extensibility Look Like?<\/span><\/h3>\n

To understand the value of platform extensibility, you need understand what it looks like in Adobe Connect.<\/p>\n

Adobe Connect Custom Pods<\/span><\/h4>\n

Adobe Connect\u2019s unique architecture makes it one of the few platforms where you can introduce app functionality in the room.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>Sure, some platforms integrate social media elements. Adobe\u2019s custom pods go much further toward creating new and fun ways to interact. You can\u00a0visit the full custom pods page here<\/a><\/strong><\/span>, and we\u2019ll look at a few below.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0pods available are built solely for Adobe Connect.<\/strong>\u00a0That means a lot of custom experiences can only happen in\u00a0Adobe Connect meetings,\u00a0trainings, and webinars.<\/p>\n

Imagine how exciting it would be to lead a live online learning session with a unique game that your learners will have never played before!<\/p>\n

The best part is that many of the\u00a0pods are free!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Custom Integrations<\/span><\/h4>\n

Custom integrations are used to provide access to Adobe Connect from other platforms.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0There are a variety of integrations that exist in the Adobe Connect ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Adobe Connect supports a number of Learning Tools\u00a0Technologies<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 LTIs \u2013 that all integrate with Learning Management Systems (LMSs), like Blackboard, Canvas, and others. On-demand learning is great for the flexibility, but it’s impersonal. LTIs give teachers and instructors the chance to use virtual classrooms during their online courses.\u00a0We see many of our customers connecting with their online audiences on a much more human level by using virtual classrooms.<\/strong>\u00a0(On a personal note, I wish I could have attended some virtual classes during my college days!)<\/p>\n

All of those great features we talked about in our other blog, “What Makes Adobe Connect Different? Feature Richness<\/a><\/strong><\/span>,” are available with every virtual classroom you port into your LMS.<\/p>\n

Adobe Connect also integrates with Salesforce, Marketo, and Eloqua.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>These integrations become critical for marketing managers who run webinars.<\/p>\n

Adobe Connect offers built-in email and landing pages that track landing page visits, registration page visits, event registrations, and event attendance.<\/p>\n

(You know what these\u00a0four metrics create, right?\u00a0A funnel.<\/span>\u00a0And we marketers love our funnels!)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pairing this information with things like email open and click rates gives marketers insight into the success of their campaigns. This is only possible thanks to Adobe Connect’s open API.<\/p>\n

Benefits:<\/span>\u00a0Positive External Influences<\/span><\/h3>\n

Adobe Connect thrives in a reseller ecosystem.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0There is a small legion of companies that partner with and resell Adobe Connect. Value-Add Resellers (VARs) like MeetingOne help to keep Adobe Connect dynamic. Each partner brings a unique perspective to the platform, and we\u2019ve collectively shaped\u00a0it to be powerful.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve seen a number of the Value-Add Resellers (VARs) introduce great tools.<\/strong>\u00a0For example, there are several SSO and other authentication tools on the partner market available to users.<\/p>\n

Along these lines, there is an abundance of LTI options created by Partners. MeetingOne competes with partners like eSync, Refined Data, and\u00a0InvataCloud\u00a0to create the best technology. All of this competition lends itself to creating great products!<\/strong><\/p>\n

MeetingOne’s Audio Integration<\/span><\/h4>\n

We developed an\u00a0audio integration for Adobe Connect<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0that allows users to incorporate reliable telephony into their online meetings or events. Telephony is a good alternative to VoIP, as your voice and audio aren\u2019t dependent upon bandwidth.<\/p>\n

Our integration also introduces call icons to the Adobe Connect Attendee List pod. These icons indicate to hosts which attendees are talking, dialing in, connected, or muted.<\/p>\n
