Some memories stick with you throughout your life.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Memories of elementary school often\u00a0resonate with many people.\u00a0 Waking up day-after-day, riding the bus to school, taking books out of your locker, sitting in the classroom, listening to your teachers lecture.<\/p>\n

Those memories stay with us, in part, because there was a strong continuity of experience.\u00a0 All of the classrooms we learned in retained the same basic components throughout the years. \u00a0They persisted<\/em> through the time we attended school, mostly unchanged.<\/p>\n

Shouldn\u2019t all of your online meetings, online trainings, and webinars, housed in virtual rooms,<\/span><\/h4>\n

persist just like a physical room?\u00a0 Is there any reason they shouldn\u2019t?<\/span><\/h4>\n

Re-imagining the Virtual Classroom<\/span><\/h1>\n

Virtual rooms have many functions, none more valuable than operating as virtual classrooms. \u00a0If you consistently host online trainings, then a persistent classroom is essential.\u00a0 Adobe Connect<\/a><\/span>\u00a0has virtual rooms designed to persist through time. \u00a0They also offer tools like Pods and Layouts<\/a><\/span> that can be repurposed many times over, which we will be considering further below.<\/p>\n

Just as if you were a teacher in a physical classroom, you would want your students to come in each day to the same space.\u00a0 The same map of Earth.\u00a0 The same arrangement of desks. \u00a0The chalkboard hangs on the wall behind the teacher\u2019s desk.\u00a0 Visual cues help define a space, and an individual will orient themselves to a space depending upon the placement of cues.\u00a0 A persistent virtual classroom has a similar effect.<\/p>\n
