> Inspired Leadership: The Key To Realizing Our True Potential

Each one of us comes to the planet with a purpose. We have been given the gifts to realize this purpose.  Education helps us understand who we are and what our purpose and gifts are. When we choose work that leverages our gifts to move towards our purpose, we do inspired work and realize our full potential. When we enable others to do so, we become inspired leaders. This session will provide insights on this journey of self discovery and transformation.

Speaker:
Anil Sachdev is the Founder of Grow Talent Company Limited. He started his career in 1975 with Telco and since then, his responsibilities in business have spanned various roles  -- HR, Operations, General Management and Quality functions. 

 

Anil’s passion for the people dimension of business led him to set up Eicher Consulatancy Services (ECS) in 1991.  Over the decade when Anil was the CEO, his organization grew to become not only one of the leading consulting and change management firms in Asia but also an institution admired for its work, values and ethics, service and innovation.  Anil started Grow Talent Company Ltd in 2000 with a focus on helping organizations manage their talent effectively and translate organizational potential into performance.

> The Power of Corporate Identity in Staffing and Performance Management

Corporate identity is a critical factor in all aspects of human resource management and leadership.  A corporation’s identity comes not only from its culture, but also the strategic and business logic of the company.  We will identify a number of critical variables that must be considered in shaping HR systems. Does the company have a long or short technology cycle?  Is it a core competitor or a niche player in its business?  Does it outsource its value chain?  What elements of the value chain are most critical?  What is the firm’s primary value proposition?

In order to maximize its performance, the company must take into account all corporate identity factors -- the company culture, HR systems and leadership model.  We will discuss examples of firms that are able to achieve and leverage clarity of corporate identity in staffing, leadership development and performance management. Absolute clarity about all elements of corporate identity is invaluable in designing and implementing HR and leadership systems.

Speaker:
William H. Davidson (Bill) served as a tenured Professor of Management at the Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, from 1985 to 1998. He was acknowledged as the most widely cited academic in international management during the 1985-1995 decade. His book 2020 Vision (with Stan Davis) was selected as the Best Business Book of the year by Fortune Magazine in 1992. He has written seven other books on management, including The Amazing Race. His latest book, Breakthrough, was published by John Wiley Press in 2004. He is currently writing a new book tentatively entitled China Man.

In 1984, Bill founded MESA Inc., a consulting firm which has served more than half of the Fortune 500 corporations. MESA was acquired by Deloitte & Touche in 1996. As a national partner at Deloitte, Bill had leadership responsibilities in the management consulting practice during 1996-98. After leaving Deloitte, Bill founded MESA Research, which focuses on leadership development and strategy consulting for global firms.

Bill was a founding faculty member of the Kokusai Daigaku(International University) of Japan, and also a founding faculty member of the Dalian Institute of Management in Dalian, PRC. Bill has served on six public company boards and a number of private boards. He is non-executive Chairman of Broadcast International (NASDAQ:BCST). He earned an AB in economics, an MBA, and a doctorate in business administration, all from Harvard University
